THERE'S MORE...

In addition to the difference in academic learning plans, you will notice a few other non-traditional elements to our program

  • Frequent breaks, movement, and hands-on activities are encouraged.

  • Life skills are taught as part of the program, not as afterschool activities, such as cleaning, managing money and community involvement.

  • Meals and snacks on-site are rich in whole foods and we encourage snacking on high protein and nutrient-rich foods to help with cognitive ability and blood sugar stabilization.

  • Chapel is held weekly. In and out of chapel students are taught that faith is not a Sunday activity and you are worth more than a grade.

Step 1: Intake Interview

We begin by meeting for an intake interview. This is where we give a program overview, get to know your family, learn about your student including their skills, goals, and challenges, and answer your questions. This is a good meeting to bring samples of your child’s work, IEP, portfolio of activities, and some notes about why you are considering HOPE Academy for your family.

After this meeting you may need time to think and discuss the program, we may need time to review your child’s file and decide if HOPE Academy is a good fit, or you may be ready to register. Please keep in mind, completing an intake interview does not mean your child is enrolled in our program and does not guarantee placement in a class. Placement in the program is only secured by doing all of the following:

1. Completion of registration paperwork

2. Payment of your registration fee

3. Either tuition in the full or first payment received (if on a payment plan)

Step 2: Registration

Once we together have determined that HOPE Virtual Academy is a good fit for your student you will receive the registration packet and we will begin collaborating to form a Student Plan. This is where we discuss what activities, classes, outside resources, enrichment, faith, and family support will help your student thrive.

HOPE Virtual Academy takes a whole-child approach to learning. We believe that learning is not simply about the students' academics but also physical, developmental, and spiritual aspects of life. For this reason, each student's learning plan is as unique as it is made to be!
